My experience with Celtic Brides has been disgusting, the service is terrible, the staff are extremely unpleasant and unprofessional, the shop is okay at best, the only thing worth going for is the dresses, but the hassle of booking an appointment is definitely not worth it. I had previously gone here with my sister for her bridesmaid dresses and was shocked at the manner of the elderly woman with glasses who appears to be in charge, she instructed my 6 year old niece to 'go on a diet and stop eating all those McDonalds'. My niece is far from a chubby child and does not need a complex at 6 thank you very much. Needless to say after this experience I was hesitant to go back, yet after my best friend decided to choose Bridesmaid dresses from here, I had no choice.
This time around has been even more disastrous. On our first fitting the woman was not only rude but made a member of our group feel uncomfortable by her comments, I didn't feel like I was in the company of a professional or someone who had years of experience I felt she was nosey and intrusive just as before. Her theory of dress fitting was out of this world, she said that we should choose the size dress that would look the same from the back on all of us. As I'm pretty sure most people will be seeing the front of us for the majority of the day, I found this a little bizarre? Surely it should be what makes us feel comfortable and look stunning all in one if possible..? Booking in fittings was even more chaotic as they don't do fittings for a saturday, it must between 9-5 in the week which is obviously ideal for anybody with a full time job, she advised the dresses would be in a month earlier than they were, and she also thought it was necessary to call up the bride after speaking to me, to tell her I was the most abusive and offensive person she has ever spoken to, when all I had tried to do was book in an appointment. I will admit, I had been frustrated on the phone as I had called all the previous day with no response and had been taking breaks from my desk to call the shop from the opening time, stated on their website, of 10am. It wasn't until half 11 somebody answered the phone and when I asked, to confirm, what time they open they said they open for appointments (so when ever they want ) and they can't leave the bride on their own (bare in mind there is more than one member of staff) She told me more than once she thought I had an 'attitude problem' at which I was shocked she had that much disrespect for customers. All in all my experience was a nightmare, so much so that the woman threatened to not do my alterations as 'she didn't have too and wouldn't do it if she didn't want to' I decided to go elsewhere. Upon collecting my dress she deliberately made me wait instead of serving me straight away as she knew exactly who I was and then proceeded to call the Bride again after I had left to tell her she had 'treated me like normal'. Quite Frankly these are the most unprofessional, rude and insulting women I have ever encountered. The other reviews can also support this and I think it is appalling that this shop is still open to the public. Do Not Go here. Save your young children and your self respect.
